The British-Croatian Society proposes a group visit on Saturday 4 October 2014 to see the Istrian Kazun in the Peak District National Park. It is an example of Istrian vernacular dry stone construction and celebrates Croatia’s accession to the EU .
The plan is for those from London to travel by group ticket from London St Pancras Station on a morning train, 1 hour 45 minutes, direct to Chesterfield Derbyshire where local transport will be organised to the Kazun.
The cost of the group return ticket, 10 minimum is £36.00 per person. Local transport costs are additional.
Friends from other locations are most welcome to join us in Chesterfield or at the Kazun, but should let us know so we can arrange numbers.
At the Kazun there will be a presentation and opportunity to walk in the Derbyshire Hills. A pub lunch will follow, and we will return to Chesterfield, with time to visit the City and see the famous crooked church spire before taking the evening train back to London.
If you are interested, and to help us estimate costs, please reply to britishcroatiansociety@gmail.com with:
- contact details including your email and mobile phone number
- stating whether or not you wish to join the group ticket from London
Once we have an idea of numbers we will get back to you ask for definite confirmation and payment.
