Croatia Hit Six Past Andorra
Andorra 0-6 Croatia
A stunning collective display from Croatia has seen them soar five points clear at the top of the table with a 6-0 thrashing of Andorra.
After a quiet thirty minutes in which Andorra managed to keep Croatia in check, the visitors exploded into action with three first half goals.
That was just about that as far as the result was concerned, but the Croatians hit three more in the second half to make it a miserable evening for the hosts.
The win sees Croatia go five points clear at the top of the table ahead of tonight's big game between England and Russia, with a massive 23 points from nine unbeaten games.
First Half
The carnage began in the 34th minute, when Dario Srna's free-kick took a wicked deflection to wrong-foot Koldo Alvarez and nestle into the net.
Just four minutes later, it was 2-0, once again from a free-kick. This time, it was Mladen Petric who curled a long range effort over the wall and into the top of the left corner.
If there was any doubt about who was in charge, that was cleared a minute before the break when Petric got his second of the night, this time with a fierce shot from just outside the box.
Second Half
It was 4-0 immediately after the break as Niko Kranjèar got in on the act, crashing the ball past a miserable Koldo after being set up by a superb ball from Jerko Leko out on the left.
Minute 55, and Arsenal signing Eduardo got his third goal in four days, making the most of the rebound after Kranjcar had his shot blocked.
The riot was completed in the 64th minute, when Ivan Rakitic scored from inside the box after Klodo parried a free-kick into his path.
Andorra's misery was complete when Genis Garcia got himself sent off 13 minutes from time for a frustrated tackle on Rakitic.
Andorra: 0
Croatia: 6 - Darijo Srna (34') - Mladen Petric (38') - Mladen Petric (44') - Niko Kranjcar (49') - Eduardo (55') - Ivan Rakitic (64')
