Can someone explain to me why is there a link to General Gotovina's homepage on the main page ? Surely people do not agree with that....or is it just me?

1. He hasn't been found guilty of any crimes
2. The indictment against him is a complete sham and contradicts other Hague indictments. It's clearly a political game and it's no wonder he's on the run.... (though Croatia's international standing suffers as a result)
3. Carla del Ponte is an ugly moose

No, I have nothing to ddo with Hercegovina, Azra. Why are you making assumptions about me. Other than my comment about Carla del Ponte being an ugly moose, I don't think there's anything which contradicts the facts (as we know them at present) in what I have written...
I ask you these questions, Azra:
1. Has Gotovina been proven guilty of anything? Do you believe in a person being innocent until proven guilty?
2. Is the indictment against Gotovina fair? Are there any contradictions in the wording?
These are two very important questions which need public debate, not mud-slinging. Please think about the questions I've asked and try a more sensible reply.

I think this is good for business as I believe a link to his page would get many hits in those days....

Everyone is innocent until proven guilty. The same can be said for Gotovina.
I have had the misfortune to meet two people who enlisted in the French Legion.
One was a recovering drug addict and the other one was a 24 year old former boxer with a long list of criminal offences ( violent conduct, robbery, burglary and attempted arson ). Tye had no probmes in enlisting in Foreign Legion.
Carla Del Ponte may be an ugly moose to some ( if she is ugly I don'y know what people would think of Gotovina) but she is a qualified lawyer and fluent in 4 languages.
I am not convinced that Gotovina would be able to write and read properly in any language. Pretty much the same could be said for majority of Croatian Army officers who were not members of former JNA. They were mainly waiters, night club bouncers or bus drivers before they were promoted into Generals.
But then again, this could only happen in Croatia.

Whatever Gotovina's reading and writing ability (or lack of), the fact remains that a very murky game is being played here IMO.
Del Ponte's impressive credentials don't excuse her from using Croatia as a punchbag right now.

Gotovina is a CRO hero. Carla del Ponte is wrong to claim that he is a war criminal.
Del Ponte and some others want to appropriate blame equally to all in xYU. This is dishonest and wrong.

If he is a Cro hero why does not he go to the Hague and prove his innocence ?
It is very simple. He is an innocent man until he is proven guilty.
Why is he so afraid of the Hague ? I don't get it. If he has nothing to hide he should go and prove his innocence. It seems to me that he fears that he might be accused and locked up like the others. In which case, he is not a hero. Not in my book.

Even the cats and dogs on the street know that the Gotovina indictment is part of a political numbers game.To indict a high ranking Croatian general is a buraucratic sop to the international community and to the authorities in Serbia,in an attempt to appear even handed.
Lets contextualise this,is 'oluja',an operation to free an occupied part of an internationally recognised state,to be given the same status as aggressive actions in pursuit of a greater serbia?
I am in no way against justice and truth for crimes commited in the homeland wars, and I am not blind to sectarian atrocities that have been dealt with by ICTY(lasva valley,Kordic and cronies),but the Gotovina indictment along side Bobetko IMO is unjust.

Even thou I think I have proven to everyone in here that I don't particulary like croatia and croats in general,.. I believe that Gotovina is innocent until proven guilty,.. since he was never found guilty of any crime, there is no reason to treat this geeza as a criminal,..
I rest my case
