Meet the voices of modern Croatian Literature
A rare chance to get to hear the best Croatian writers presenting their work for the first time to a UK audience – Daša Drndic, Josip Novakovich and Marinko Koscec, chaired by Nicholas Jarrold, former British Ambassador to Croatia. Daša Drndic, Josip Novakovich and Marinko Koscec will discuss their recent books and their reception in the UK and US. After a short presentation, the audience will have the chance to mingle and talk to each writer, in an informal ‘mini book fair’ setting, with refreshments served afterwards. The event will be held in Keats House, a beautiful historic house where the poet John Keats lived.
Tickets cost £5 and are available at the door or can be reserved at the Library (all ticket income will go towards supporting the Keats Library) or by RSVP to info@istrosbooks.com.

Contemporary Croatian Literature: Inside and Out
A two-part discussion on today’s Croatian literary scene, and the efforts to bring Croatian literature to a wider audience through translation. Introduced by the Croatian Ambassador, HE Dr Ivan Grdesic, and chaired by Man Booker International nominee, Josip Novakovich, and Literary Editor, Roman Simic-Bodrozic.

Part 2 – Croatian literature in translation: Will Firth, Ivan Srsen, Mia Pervan, Susan Curtis-Kojakovic; Chaired by Josip Novakovich
