Croatia have been drawn against the following teams for the qualification stages of the 2006 World Cup:
Group 8 Sweden Bulgaria Iceland Hungary Malta
Not a bad draw. We've avoided the big teams which is good.

Hm, judging from some past performances by our heroic hunks, there is still plenty of scope for oops and ouch!

Not a bad draw?? Definately one of the hardest... Sweden rankjed No1 in Europe (don't know why though) Bulgaria (already beaten us in Euro 2004) Iceland (did well in their Euro 2004 group) Hungary (one of the teams doing really well lately)
Here's my prediction... We'll draw to Malta and Iceland, not lose a game, thrash say Sweden or Bulgaria in the last game and scrap through in the playoff... sounds like Croatia...

Ah whats with the negative waves!!!! We've beaten Sweden and Bulgaria recently so its not mission impossible. Hungary finished behind Poland and Latvia !!!!! and Iceland had Scotland and Germany to contend with. The teams they finished behind aren't that good really and even Sweden just scraped through by 1pt. I also can't believe Sweden are no. 1 in Europe. Their only good players are Ibrahimovic and Ljungberg and they have a big lump in defence, Mellberg. The rest are so and so. As always it will all depend on what frame of mind the players are in. I know the players can be unpredictable but hey its been like that since 96. So whats new! But its capable.

all in all a reasonable draw. on paper, sweden are one of the weaker top seeds, and bulgaria one of the s.est third seeds. as long as we give some respect to iceland and hungary, we should do ok. however, less potential for one of the second s.est teams to emerge from this group (and automatically qualify) as each could take points from the others. of course, we will qualify, but dont expect to have fingernails by the end of the qualification games!!!
