Igor Biscan has had a major bust up with Baric after Baric decided not to include him in the squad for Saturdays game against Bulgaria. To be honest I find it really odd that you call up a player like Biscan who has been playing really well for Liverpool and not play him. I suppose it is better having players like Tokic and Neretljak on the bench as cover who lets face it play at a much higher level!!!!!!!!!!!
On the other hand Biscan should not have stormed off but I can not understand why somebody like Tokic gets picked ahead of him.
Anyway this is from Liverpoolfc.tv:
Gerard Houllier has leapt to the defence of Igor Biscan after the Croatian was told he will never play for his country again.
Biscan walked out of the Croatian squad just hours before their Euro 2004 qualifier with Bulgaria at the weekend after being told he wasn't going to play any part in the game.
Reports then suggested Biscan went on a drinking spree with team-mate Mario Stanic, but the Liverpool defender has told Houllier those rumours are totally false.
Houllier said: "Igor came to see me and told me there were rumours going around about him, but that he simply walked out of the squad because he wasn't in the 18.
"He was back here training on Sunday and trained again today. He is not a drinker."
Biscan had only just forced his way back into his national squad after an impressive series of displays for Liverpool, but Croatian coach Otto Baric has said he won't be calling him up again.
Baric said: "While I am coaching this national team Biscan will never get a second chance. He will never play for me again."
