England sell out Croatia game Portman Road has undergone extensive renovation England's friendly against Croatia at Portman Road in August has sold out. The 19,000 tickets available for the game in Ipswich on 20 August were snapped up within hours of going on sale on Sunday.
"This highlights the huge attraction of the England team," said an statement on the FA website.
It is the first time Ipswich have hosted an England international.
The 30,250 capacity stadium will be the 13th ground to be used since the England team started travelling around the country because of rennovations to Wembley.
Croatia will go into the game on the back of a good run of form, currently occupying second place in their Euro 2004 qualifying group behind Bulgaria.

There is. Tickets are only available from the HNS (Croatia Football Federation) in Zagreb. Ticketmaster, nor the English FA are selling any of the tickets for the away section

Ticketmaster, nor the English FA are selling any of the tickets for the away section Its f**ked............ the Croatian FF website has been shut down for some time, my family live in Dalmatia on the islands so cannot get tickets for me - This is typical Croatian business sense and customer care. I phoned the English FA and they said that even if Croatia doesn't use it full compliment thay will not be able to sell the remainder (FIFA regulations). Any help for two tickets would be greatly appreciated

Well sorry to say that if you haven't called the HNS by now don't bother. I tried and was told that their allocation has been sold out too. They had a very small allocation and regretably it's a first in first served basis...
In times like these you'd wonder why England chose to play a major international friendlay at a ground which only holds 19,000 people...
