I am also looking for more info: it seems that people involved are keeping everything close to their chests.

Here's the dinner details if you are interested... We have been asked to pass on details of the following event to you: The British Croatian Society will be holding its first annual dinner to be held on Wednesday 26th November on the RS Hispaniola which is moored beside Victoria Embankment. The Croatian ambassador will be in attendance and will give a speech 'Our bilateral relationships and Croatia's aspirations for membership of the European Union'. The cost of this dinner is £40 per person which includes half a bottle of wine and the same of mineral water. Dress will be lounge suits. If you are interested in attending please email Mr Boris Marelic on bmarelic@dittravel.fsnet.co.uk.

This society is not a new thing; on the contrary, it goes back at least some 10 years or so. Largely irrelevant for all of us. Of marginal interest to business folk, although even that is debatable. As the saying goes - been there done that, saw no point, and left. Membership used to be some £100-£120 a year, with 3-4 things happening every year, if you are lucky. Once a year was a dinner, ypu pay extra for it obviously. Once or twice some boringly irrelevant or was it irrelevantly boring so called meeting/lecture/discussion,and, if you are really lucky, maybe Croatian wines evenine or tourist evening with some Croatian munchies and wine. Overwhelming majority were "corporate" guests - i.e. those who persuaded their company to pay their annual membership.

I was a member until couple of years ago, as my current job is no longer Croatia-orientated as the previous ones were. I remember couple of dinners, wine and snack gatherings, exhibitions, presentations etc. Would be nice if they could inform us of some of the events that might be of interest to the wider circle of people.
