Just to note... this Marovic fella has apologised on behalf of all citizens of Serbia & Montengro. Good on him... But for reference it should be noted that the apology is only on behalf of the citizens of S&M and cleverly excludes the citizens of Krajina & the Srpksa Republika in BiH. The Serbs living in these areas caused the most deaths and damage to Croatia (not to mention BiH) but are not citizens of Serbia & Montenegro.... So really the apology is good, but clearly falls way short...
As for this thingy Mr Meat, he only apologised on a spur of the moment after hearing Marovic's apology.... The fool wasn't even planning to apologise but felt he had to once the Serbs did....
Why should we be sorry for defending our country against the Serb attacks? I for one would like to call for the retraction of Mr Meat's apology...

..he only apologised on a spur of the moment after hearing Marovic's apology.... The fool wasn't even planning to apologise but felt he had to once the Serbs did.... . No. He apologised only for few other reasons: 1. to make "the world" happy..etc 2. because there are so many Croatian companies currently expanding in S&MN ( buying the cheap companies and using the cheap workers in there) and opening the new markets in there. The Croatian media is talking about the expansion a lot recently.. So are we going to see a new workers revolution in future in S&MN : Them getting rid of new croatian financial dominance?

The Croatian media is talking about the expansion a lot recently.. So are we going to see a new workers revolution in future in S&MN : Them getting rid of new croatian financial dominance? umm.... No, I think you're wrong again.. I don't usually like to respond to Anja's 'words of wisdom'. However I should clarify things so others don't take her words for gospel. If you read the press reports properly you would find that Mesic's apology was not prepared. He did have one ready to say but once Marovic made the apology he felt he had to do the same... S. leadership we have in Croatia don't we?? I suggest you do a little bit of research before coming out with this 'peace and love' sranje you harp on about all too often As for that last comment about the worker's revolution... I'm putting my hands up and saying that I've got no idea what you're on about... Back onto the apology, is it any wonder that not long after the apology by Marovic, that he asked Croatia to remove the law suit against Belgrade for damages against Croatia during the war? Coincidence, or a genuine apology to be nice to us... I'm thinking that it's not because they want to be all chummy with us. It seems to me that the Serbs are again trying to pull the wool over our eyes... ie, be nice to us so that we be nice to them and remove that small little law suit thingy... I mean it's only a few billion dollars anyway... Mr Meat, nor anyone else in the Croatian government made any comment about the law suit, however rest assured that the current government will drop the case to please our orthodox neighbours in the east... I mean, why take money off the serbs anyway... If Mesic had his way, we'll all be one country again so it'll be like taking money off ourselves!

As for that last comment about the worker's revolution... I'm putting my hands up and saying that I've got no idea what you're on about... This was just my thought thinking about late 80s when we all in Croatia kept moaning about Serbian dominance in Army, factories, businesses.. Well, now when I read about Croats buying businesses and factories in Serbia this thing came to my mind: are their people going to moan now about Croatian presence in Serbia .. Just a logical thought, nothing else. Same time I think that Stipe Mesic went to Serbia not because he loves to be a good neighbour but for the reasons of the new businesses and markets developing on that front and I think this is good for Croatian economy anyway, at least somewhere to sell.. About the law suite, I agree with you..

No apology could ever be perfect but I still welcome it anyway. The real reason for the apology is a desire for both governments to join the EU and requesting that law suits be dropped and eagerness for Mesic to reclaim old markets in Serbia is really superficial to the real reasons for making an apology.

from Slobodna Dalmacija:
